Έρχεται η 69η τελετή, των Tony Awards, με οικοδεσπότες την Kristin Chenoweth και τον Alan Cumming στις 7 Ιουνίου στο Radio City Music Hall της Νέας Υόρκης. Οι δύο ηθοποιοί θα ενώσουν τις δυνάμεις τους για χάρη της παρουσίασης της μεγάλης τελετής.
Τη λίστα με τους υποψήφιους για την φετινή χρονιά παρουσίασαν οι Bruce Willis και Mary Lewis Parker.
Έχοντας αποσπάσει δώδεκα συνολικά υποψηφιότητες, το μιούζικαλ «An American in Paris» ξεχωρίζει στη λίστα των υποψηιοτήτων των φετινών Θεατρικών Βραβείων Tony Awards. Ακολουθεί το μιούζικαλ «Something Rotten!» με εννέα υποψηφιότητες και το θεατρικό έργο «The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time» με έξι.
Για το βραβείο καλύτερου ηθοποιού σε θεατρικό έργο έχουν προταθεί η Bradley Cooper για το The Elephant Man και ο Bill Nye για το Skylight, ενώ το βραβείο καλύτερου γυναικείου ρόλου διεκδικούν η Hellen Mirren για το The Audience και Carey Mulligan για το Skylight.
