Οι μεγάλες νίκες της βραδιάς στα φετινά BAFTA TV Awards ανήκαν στις σειρές Mr Bates vs The Post Office και Mr Loverman, αφήνοντας πίσω το Baby Reindeer, που δεν συνέχισε το εντυπωσιακό σερί νικών του.
Η τελετή απονομής, με οικοδεσπότη τον Άλαν Κάμινγκ, σταρ του The Traitors, πραγματοποιήθηκε την Κυριακή με ηλιόλουστη διάθεση στις όχθες του Τάμεση, στο Royal Festival Hall του Λονδίνου.
Αν και τα βραβεία μοιράστηκαν σχετικά ισορροπημένα, το Mr Bates vs The Post Office αναδείχθηκε ξεκάθαρα σε νικητή της βραδιάς. Η σειρά του ITV, που συγκλόνισε πέρσι τη Βρετανία, προκάλεσε εθνικό διάλογο για τις αδικίες που υπέστησαν αθώοι Βρετανοί ταχυδρόμοι, οι οποίοι καταδικάστηκαν άδικα για κλοπή, απάτη και ψευδή λογιστική.
Η σειρά κέρδισε το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Μίνι Σειράς, αφήνοντας πίσω της το Baby Reindeer, που είχε ήδη σαρώσει σε βραβεία όπως τα Emmys και οι Χρυσές Σφαίρες. Ωστόσο, η Τζέσικα Γκάνινγκ κατέκτησε το Βραβείο Β’ Γυναικείου Ρόλου για τη συμμετοχή της στο Baby Reindeer, ολοκληρώνοντας πιθανώς ένα ιστορικό σερί επιτυχιών για τη σειρά.
